Live your dream of a career in tennis with the best possible education. We offer children and young people a unique opportunity to enjoy a coordinated, highly professional tennis and school education in Germany. Train under professional conditions and gain Germany’s highest school qualification, Abitur. Once you are finished, all doors are open to you: from a professional career to studies at a top university!
On your marks, get set, go!
The Academy is currently under construction. We are already offering the tennis and school programme. Participation in training is open to all (remote) students, regardless of which school they attend. Some participants already attend our private partner school (Obermayr Europe School) in Wiesbaden. The school premises at our Academy are not yet complete. Students attend the campus in Wiesbaden Erbenheim, just a few kilometres away. After school, students are taken to the Academy’s training facility in a private bus. Parents of students who attend other schools organise their transport privately. Several hours of tennis and athletics training are held every day from Monday to Friday. It is also possible to take part in training on specific days!
School and tennis:
The programme centres around professional tennis and school education for the children at the Academy campus. The goal is to enable the students to complete their Abitur, giving them the ideal conditions to begin their studies or career. Dr. Obermayr, the internationally renowned private school provider, will deliver this education. The education programme also promotes the children’s talents in tennis, allowing them to develop their skills in the best possible way – and opening up the opportunity of a professional career. Graduates will have all options open to them.
Professional career and other options possible:
During their time at the school, students will regularly come into contact with sports scouts and American universities and colleges with close links to the Academy. Once they graduate, their transition to a career in professional sport can be organised as smoothly as possible. Teaching is therefore in English and classes usually have a maximum of 10-15 students – guaranteeing an international approach and individual support and advancement for every student.
Tennis, athletics and health:
Alongside academic studies, tennis teaching is at the heart of what the Academy does. Tennis and athletics teaching is provided by professional coaches, who are responsible for advancing the students’ sporting and social skills. Young professional athletes need to be able to rely on their bodies. That is why support from sports medicine is so important. Nutritionists, general practitioners and physiotherapists all play their part in checking the students’ health regularly and improving it in the long term. To support their sports training, students have access to multiple fitness centres and a swimming area.
Accommodation on campus:
Initially, students will be accommodated in 46 dorms of four beds each, providing capacity for 184 students. In order to achieve the final maximum capacity, another 30 dorms with four beds each will also be set up to offer boarding space for an additional 120 students. There will also be 30 1.5-bed apartments for parents, giving them a comfortable option to stay close to their children.
Holiday camps and tournaments:
Another aspect of our Academy is holding tennis holiday camps and tournaments. Holiday camps of one week each are planned during Easter, summer and autumn holidays. We also offer tennis camps outside the local school holidays, to accommodate varying holidays across Europe. Tournaments for all abilities and age groups have been held regularly at our Academy since November 2021. As well as offering a wide range of DTB and LK tournaments, we also give you the chance to take part in regional championships and international tournaments. Further tournament series are planned (ITF, WTA, ATP).
Dorint Hotel:
The Academy is not only for children and their parents, but also for other relatives, guests and visitors to the institution, tournament participants and members of the tennis club. Further accommodation therefore needs to be created alongside the student dorms on campus. A hotel is currently being constructed on the site itself, with the Dorint Group joining us as a partner. The hotel will offer 110 rooms, which can be booked via the relevant portals. Parents will also be able to use the 30 planned 1.5-bedroom apartments, giving them a comfortable option to stay close to their children.
Restaurant and canteen:
The restaurant is designed for external guests and parents. Meals are served à la carte in pleasant surroundings that invite parents to enjoy their dinner with other parents or visitors. Guests can enjoy high-quality food in an appealing ambience without leaving the campus. Sharing the same kitchen is the student canteen, which offers a buffet that changes every day.
Tennis-Point shop:
High-quality equipment is absolutely essential in professional sport – and the students at our Academy are no different. To meet the demand for professional tennis equipment, the campus will also boast a shop for sporting goods. Operated by Tennis-Point, it will give students the opportunity to kit themselves out on site. Given its focus on tennis and the professional advice provided, the pro shop will also be popular with experts.
